My Family World Terms of Use

Release status: Version 2.0 is available on the App Store. These terms apply to version 2.0.

Version 2.1 terms: The version 2.0 terms below also apply to version 2.1. Version 2.1 adds no new data types. Calendar sharing remains optional. Existing sharing, export and backup choices are unchanged.

Version 1.6 terms: The subscription, billing, data-handling and general-information terms described here for versions 1.3 and 1.5 also apply to versions 1.5.1 and 1.6. The source-link section for versions 1.5, 1.5.1 and 1.6 describes the wider source and support links. Version 1.6 adds the Family calendar, book cover pictures that load online and a Spanish interface, described below. References to version 1.1 describe that earlier release.

Version 1.6.1 terms: The terms here for version 1.6 also apply to version 1.6.1. Version 1.6.1 corrects version 1.6 and changes no subscription, billing, data handling or general information term.

These terms govern your use of the My Family World app ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the app is

My Family World is a calm, parent-operated companion for a parent or caregiver and a young child. Version 1.1 includes Development activities, reading guidance and real animal media; Little Meals; Parent Table; and the Grown‑Ups parent area. Version 1.3 adds a parent-facing Mother Care reference and renames Grown‑Ups as Family Dashboard. Version 1.6 adds a Family calendar for planning the day and the week ahead, book cover pictures that load online in the Books list, and a Spanish interface alongside English and Arabic. Plans and personal notes that the family writes are not checked by the app for age, allergy, safety or health, and a calendar entry is a plan, not a record of what was eaten or done. App recipes and activities added to the calendar are references; open them in the app and read their guidance before use. The app supports family time and provides general information, not individualized medical, nutritional or developmental advice. It is not an individualized emergency assessment or triage service and does not replace emergency services. Mother Care does not assess, score, diagnose, personalise or provide branching triage. You remain responsible for decisions about care, diet and safety, and should use your own qualified professional or local emergency service when individual or urgent help is needed.

Your licence

The app is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That agreement governs the licence scope and permitted use. These My Family World terms add the app-specific subscription, privacy, acceptable-use, and guidance boundaries below.

Subscriptions, billing and renewal

On a fresh installation of version 1.3, use of the app after setup requires a verified active auto-renewing subscription. The app reads the localized product name, price, billing period, introductory-offer duration and eligibility from StoreKit and shows the applicable terms before purchase. Downloading the app or completing setup does not start a trial. If Apple confirms eligibility, its configured 14-day introductory free trial begins only after the parent selects Monthly or Annual and confirms Apple’s purchase sheet; the selected plan then renews automatically unless cancelled. If the Apple Account is ineligible, standard billing begins when purchase is confirmed. If product or entitlement data is unavailable, first run offers Retry and Restore Purchases only and does not enter the app.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them through Apple. For a free or discounted trial, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew.
• You can view, change, or cancel a subscription in your device's Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Billing, renewals, price changes, refunds, and offer eligibility are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Refund requests are made to Apple, not to us.

Your data

Family-entered data stays in the app’s local storage and is not automatically transmitted to My Family World. In version 1.3, setup stores one local Mother Care preference, including whether “I’m expecting” was selected, to choose the setup path and local reminders. It is not sent to My Family World. Browsing Mother Care saves no stage, category, topic, symptom, urgent row, pregnancy date, symptom answer, score, assessment or history. A parent can deliberately share selected content or export an encrypted backup. Separately, the app contacts Apple for product, entitlement, purchase and restore operations; Apple handles the Apple Account and transaction. In version 1.6, Family calendar entries and notes are stored the same way, are included in the encrypted backup, are removed by Reset all progress, and, apart from device or iCloud backups described in the Privacy Policy, leave the device only when you choose to share a preview or export an encrypted backup. Book cover pictures in the Books list load online from Open Library and, for some covers, from Internet Archive servers. How this works is described in full in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Mother Care and external sources in version 1.3

When version 1.3 is installed, Mother Care content is bundled in the app and works offline. A named official-source link opens in the system browser only after you tap it. The destination website then applies its own terms and privacy practices. My Family World does not control third-party websites and does not append your name, child data, Mother Care selection or another My Family World identifier to the link.

Official source and support links in versions 1.5, 1.5.1 and 1.6

In versions 1.5, 1.5.1 and 1.6, the Sources directory and source links across the parent sections open the registered HTTPS page only after you tap. The Contact control opens My Family World's hosted support section. My Family World does not append your name, child data, Mother Care setup preference, feature-request text or another My Family World identifier to these URLs. Opening a page connects your device to that website, which applies its own privacy practices. My Family World does not control third-party websites. In version 1.6, when the app language is Spanish, the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Contact controls open the English pages of this site; there are no Spanish versions of the Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, and the support section the Contact control opens has a short Spanish paragraph. The Open Library courtesy link in the Books section is not one of the registered source links; it opens openlibrary.org in the system browser only after you tap it.

Sources and no endorsement

My Family World uses published guidance from multiple established public-health and education organisations rather than presenting one individual's opinion as approval. The named organisations and individuals have not reviewed, approved, endorsed or partnered with My Family World. Source attribution does not create an endorsement.

Family circle (version 2.0)

The family circle is for adults sharing family plans with people they know and trust. Invite only people you know. You are responsible for what you share and send. Do not use the circle to harass anyone or to share unlawful content. Use Report a problem or email us if someone misuses it; Remove from circle stops sharing at once. We may close a sharing account that is used abusively. Alerts and updates depend on Apple, Google and your connection and may arrive late or not at all; always open the app for the current plan.

Ending the sharing account (version 2.0)

You can delete your sharing account at any time in the app. Your subscription is separate and is managed in your Apple Account settings.

Acceptable use

Use the app only for lawful, personal family purposes. Do not attempt to disrupt, misuse, or gain unauthorised access to the app or any related service.

No warranty and limit of liability

Apple's Standard EULA contains the applicable warranty and liability terms. Nothing in these My Family World terms limits any consumer right or other right that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app develops. If a change is significant, we will make it clear in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
